美모터트렌드 올해의 SUV 선정 캐딜락은 19일 서울 강남구 복합 문화공간 앤헤이븐에서 미디어 행사를 열고 에스컬레이드 IQ를 오는 20일부터 국내에서 본격적으로 판매한다고 밝혔다.제네럴모터스 제공.[파이낸셜뉴스] 제너럴모터스(GM)의 프리미엄 자동차 브랜드 캐딜락이 플래그십 스포츠유틸리티차(SUV) 에스컬레이드를 순수 전기차로 진화시킨 '에스컬레이드 IQ'를 국내에 출시했다.에스컬레이드 IQ는 국내에서 판매되는 차량 중 GM의 핸즈프리 운전자 보조 시스템(ADAS)인 '슈퍼크루즈'가 처음으로 적용됐다. 
캐딜락은 19일 서울 강남구 복합 문화공간 앤헤이븐에서 미디어 행사를 열고 에스컬레이드 IQ를 오는 20일부터 국내에서 본격적으로 판매한다고 밝혔다.에스컬레이드 IQ는 캐딜락의 세 번째 전기차다.1998년 처음 나온 에스컬레이드의 헤리티지 요소를 계승하면서 혁신 전동화 기술을 대거 탑재했다는 것이 캐딜락의 설명이다.국내에는 '프리미엄 스포츠' 단일 트림으로 들어온다.
에스컬레이드 IQ의 전장은 5715㎜로 전기 SUV 중 가장 길다.휠베이스(축간거리)는 3460㎜,토토 영상전고는 1935㎜,토토 영상전폭은 2055㎜에 달한다.
전면부에는 국내 최대 용량인 345L 'e-트렁크'를 갖췄고,후면 트렁크는 기본 668L에 2·3열을 다 접으면 양문형 냉장고 4대 용량에 달하는 3374L까지 늘어난다.공차 중량도 일반 전기차의 2배를 넘는 4210㎏이다.
한 번 충전으로 달릴 수 있는 거리는 복합 기준 국내 최장 수준인 739㎞(도심 776㎞·고속 692㎞)다.GM과 LG에너지솔루션의 합작사인 얼티엄 셀즈에서 만든 205kWh(킬로와트시) 대용량 니켈·코발트·망간·알루미늄(NCMA) 배터리를 탑재했다.
800V 초급속 충전 시스템으로 최대 350㎾ 충전 속도를 지원한다.10분간 충전하면 188㎞까지 달릴 수 있다.듀얼 모터 사륜구동(AWD) 시스템으로,최고 성능을 내는 벨로시티 모드를 적용하면 출력이 750마력에 달하며 최대 토크는 108.5㎏·ｍ다. 캐딜락 에스컬레이드 IQ.제네럴모터스 제공.시그니처 기술인 마그네틱 라이드 컨트롤 4.0도 적용돼 도로 상태를 초당 1천회까지 감지하고 감쇠력을 실시간 조절한다.여기에 에어 라이드 어댑티브 서스펜션을 더해 노면 충격을 부드럽게 흡수하고,토토 영상주행 상황에 따라 차고를 조절해 최적의 승차감과 뛰어난 핸들링 성능을 유지한다고 캐딜락은 소개했다. 
무엇보다 에스컬레이드 IQ는 운전대를 잡지 않아도 알아서 도로를 달리는 슈퍼크루즈 기술이 국내 최초로 적용됐다.이 기술은 운전자가 전방을 주시하기만 하면 손을 떼도 되는 핸즈프리 드라이빙을 구현한다.차량 흐름도 알아서 감지해 앞뒤 차와 거리를 유지하고 상황에 따라 차선도 옮긴다.현재 슈퍼크루즈는 국내에서 신호등이 없는 약 2만3000㎞ 구간 고속도로와 주요 간선도로에서 이용할 수 있다.
큰 덩치의 차체를 정교하게 움직이는 '어라이벌 모드'도 핵심 요소다.후륜 조향 기능을 활용해 대각선 방향으로도 움직일 수 있어 평행주차 상황 등 도심의 좁은 공간에서 기동성이 높다고 캐딜락은 설명했다.
실내에는 55인치 커브드 발광다이오드(LED) 디스플레이와 1·2열을 가로지르는 파노라마 고정식 글라스 루프 등이 적용됐다.38개 스피커로 구성된 AKG 스튜디오 레퍼런스 사운드 시스템에 더해 국내 캐딜락 전기차 중 최초로 돌비 애트모스가 지원돼 강화된 몰입형 음향을 제공한다.
에스컬레이드 IQ는 지난 18일(현지시간) 미국 자동차 전문지 모터트렌드의 '올해의 SUV'로 선정됐다.국내에서는 사전 구매 기간 올해 공급분이 전량 예약 마감됐다고 캐딜락은 밝혔다.
